I have another exciting installment for the Mother/Maker series, where I interview a maker or designer on their life as a creative and a mother. I am delighted to say that Isabella from TwoMe is my guest on the blog today. I first came across Isabella on instagram many years ago when she had challenged herself to learn 12 crafts in 12 months. Since then she has grown a successful business writing, making and teaching about Macrame and natural dyeing.

Have you ever created a vision board? I hadn’t until this year. It’s not something I had thought about or really saw the value in before now, but at the start of the year I had three different sources (completely unrelated) telling me to create a vision board for 2020. So I saw it as a sign and made one.

I’m feeling excited. It’s a new decade, and all the usual ‘fresh start’ energy has been supercharged by the fact we’re leaving the 20-teen years behind. I’ve loved the last decade. It saw many huge changes for me. Lots of learning and growing…

It’s taken me more than 6 months, but with little snippets of advice here and there I’ve think I’ve finally got my leg-shaving routine down (and anxiety-free)!

So here are my top tips for having a pain and anxiety free shaving experience (and beautifully smooth legs - if that’s your thing)…

This year I’ve been looking for some cool and sustainable ways to decorate our house for the festivities… I’ve also made this crocheted spider garland.

With Autumn in the air and a glut of apples and pears on the trees outside (in this part of the world anyway) I’ve been looking up ways to bring this fruity design into children’s spaces - and there is definitely a whole lot to choose from! It’s a kind of modern classic in my eyes.

We’re embarking on a new chapter together and life has changed so much since this time last year. I’m not usually very good at looking back and reflecting, but seeing as this is a natural phase of transition for me it feels appropriate - and September has that ‘new year’ feel to it doesn’t it?

So you’ve made the change to natural products in your self-care and beauty regime, you use all natural ingredients when you clean your house; but what about when it comes to decorating the space for your precious little bundle?

When I first learned to crochet any yarn would do. These days I’m much more concerted. I can spend hours researching a new yarn; looking for the exact colour, texture, fibres. It’s a passion (obsession?) and sticking to some rules around which colours work best with my designs as well as only using natural fibres help me to narrow down my options in a sea of yarn possibilities.

There are so many ways we can opt for a more natural alternative these days; in our skincare, the food we buy, the products we clean our homes with and the fabrics our clothes are made of.
