Getting started with a safety razor - my top tips
It’s taken me more than 6 months, but with little snippets of advice here and there I’ve think I’ve finally got my leg-shaving routine down (and anxiety-free)!
So here are my top tips for having a pain and anxiety free shaving experience (and beautifully smooth legs - if that’s your thing)…
DIY: Halloween spider garland
This year I’ve been looking for some cool and sustainable ways to decorate our house for the festivities… I’ve also made this crocheted spider garland.
Apples & Pears nursery inspiration
With Autumn in the air and a glut of apples and pears on the trees outside (in this part of the world anyway) I’ve been looking up ways to bring this fruity design into children’s spaces - and there is definitely a whole lot to choose from! It’s a kind of modern classic in my eyes.
Reflecting on my maternity leave
We’re embarking on a new chapter together and life has changed so much since this time last year. I’m not usually very good at looking back and reflecting, but seeing as this is a natural phase of transition for me it feels appropriate - and September has that ‘new year’ feel to it doesn’t it?
Mother // Maker : Kayleigh Excell of Kindred Quilting Co
Hello! I’m excited to introduce a new feature here on the blog: Mother / Maker - where I will be talking to other designer/maker/mothers who are living out their small business dreams alongside the very demanding role of motherhood.
How to create a more natural nursery
So you’ve made the change to natural products in your self-care and beauty regime, you use all natural ingredients when you clean your house; but what about when it comes to decorating the space for your precious little bundle?
My favourite materials
When I first learned to crochet any yarn would do. These days I’m much more concerted. I can spend hours researching a new yarn; looking for the exact colour, texture, fibres. It’s a passion (obsession?) and sticking to some rules around which colours work best with my designs as well as only using natural fibres help me to narrow down my options in a sea of yarn possibilities.
91 Magazine feature: meet the maker
I’m excited to say that I have been featured over on 91 Magazine’s blog as part of their ‘meet the maker’ series. I’m a huge fan of 91 Magazine, so you can imagine how happy I was to be contacted by them.
Why I choose natural: 3 simple reasons for a happier life
There are so many ways we can opt for a more natural alternative these days; in our skincare, the food we buy, the products we clean our homes with and the fabrics our clothes are made of.
January : inspiration
It’s been an odd start to the year, energy-wise. Things have taken a little while to get going, and I’ve seen online that there are lots of others also feeling this way. Motivation aside, I’ve still found plenty to get inspired about and have actually been thinking up a tonne of new ideas and designs.
New year thoughts
The new year came and went and I’m just about getting started with my ‘resolutions’, or starting to think about them anyway. New Year’s is usually a great time for me to get going with fresh ideas, intentions and habits; but this year seemed to kick off with a sigh rather than the usual spark.
Baby’s first Christmas
It’s that magical time of year, made even more magical if you have a little person celebrating it for the first time.
This Christmas feels extra special to me as it’s the first one my eldest (who’s three) seems to really ‘get’ it, as well as it being my little Alice’s first ever one!
